Falling Waters, WV June 2nd, 2025 Mark D. Harrell, President and CEO of CNB Bank, is proud to recognize Charles “Charlie” Lowery, Vice President – Commercial Banker, for successfully completing the Commercial Lending Specialist Certificate program through BankersHub.
Charlie, who is based out of CNB Bank’s Spring Mills office in Falling Waters, West Virginia, completed the comprehensive program designed to deepen expertise in business lending. The certification provides a full-spectrum understanding of commercial credit analysis, cash flow and collateral evaluation, CECL practices, and underwriting strategies for both C&I and CRE loans. Through real-world insights and flexible, self-paced coursework, Charlie enhanced his skills in structuring deals, assessing risk, and supporting businesses across all stages of the economic cycle.
The BankersHub certification is recognized for aligning professionals with industry changes, regulatory updates, and the evolving needs of commercial clients.

A lifelong resident of the Eastern Panhandle, Charlie graduated from Shepherd College with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1994. He joined CNB Bank in 2007 and is also a graduate of the West Virginia Bankers Association Banking School and several regional leadership programs. He currently serves as Vice-Chair on the Board of Directors for both the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce and WVU Hospital East Foundation.
In addition to his recent certification, Charlie was recently named the 2025–2026 President of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He will be officially inducted during the Chamber’s annual Denim & Diamonds event on June 5, 2025.
Charlie is also widely known for his deep community involvement, having held leadership roles with the Martinsburg-Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce, the Martinsburg Sunrise Rotary, and the Boys & Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle. He was named the 2020 Chamber Champion by the Martinsburg-Berkeley County Chamber and recognized as the 2020–2021 “Making a Difference” member by the Sunrise Rotary Club.
When not assisting business clients or serving the community, Charlie enjoys spending time with friends at Shepherd University football games and the gym.
